The vacationers

Hey guys!
It's been a while so we just wanted to give you guys a little update:

I've been doing a lot of poetry events and competitions lately. I just really like the positive energy that I get from being around other poetry lovers. I found this really cool shirt and shorts combo at goodwill, but pretty sure that they're  supposed to be pj's. I'm not wearing the shirt in this picture but I've been wearing it a lot recently.
Shirt: garage sale
Shorts: goodwill
Shoes:Dd's discounts
Lipstick:occ lip tar in pool boy

I recently competed in the English Speaking Union's Shakespeare monologue competition. It was super cool to work hard on my monologue and get to perform in front of people. On to the outfit! Isn't my shirt incredibly rad? I feel like I'm channeling my inner corny dad on vacation.
Shirt: goodwill
Jacket: forever 21 girls
Jeans: forever 21
Shoes: pacsun

Black Lipped Beauties

As most of you know last weekend was Martin Luther King Jr. Day. To celebrate we went to the Museum of African Diaspora and checked out some of the exhibits. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures inside the museum, but one of the artists that we really enjoyed was Elizabeth Catlett. Her art was not only strikingly beautiful but also critiqued the world around her. It was pretty hard for us to find the museum from Union Square, but thanks to some helpful strangers we finally found our way. Here are some of the pictures we took before we left for the city.

Lately I've been really into buttons and pins. The big ones my theatre teacher gave me because she had extra merch from a production of Spamelot our school had done. The smaller ones I found at a cool thrift shop in Berkley and the rest of the pins are just earrings.

I've noticed that when I wear black lipstick half of the people I see think I look like a fierce queen and the other half think I'm possessed or secretly a witch, I prefer to see myself in the former. Plus my mini buns are definetly on fleek. I used a mixture of occ lip tar in Rx and a Halloween lipstick I got from CVS.
I've been wanting a mohair sweater since summer and I finally got one for Christmas ( is it too late to brag about Christmas gifts?).
See you guys soon!

Where We're Going We Don't Need Roads

Happy 2015 guys!! One of our resolutions is to blog more so hopefully you guys will be getting some new interesting posts soon. 2015 looks like it's going to be a good year and there are so many exciting things happening. We're going to drive soon, we're turning 16, and most importantly Marty McFly will be arriving any day now. We're putting our New Years resolutions on this post so we can't chicken out:
1. Be more adventurous. I feel like in 2014 I passed up a lot of great opportunities because I was too scared or I didn't think it was worth the risk. This year I just want to try everything and see where it takes me.
2. Be healthier. I'm probably not going to follow through with this one because I say it every year but  what's a resolution list if you don't talk about your health?
3. Write every day. I love writing and I feel like I should make more time for it in my everyday life.

1. Drink more water. According to Mick Jenkins water's more important than gold. So I should probably be trying to get more of that. Plus it clears up my skin better than any pimple treatment could.
2. I'm a huge bibliophile, but ever since I've started my sophomore year of high school I've had less time to read. I'm going to try to make time because there's nothing better than the feeling of a book in
my hands.
3. Work harder in school. My sophomore grades are a lot better then my freshman grades but hopefully I can do even better this semester.
Here are a couple pictures of the outfits that we wore to ring in the new year:
